E4D Employment for Sustainable Development in Africa

Through cooperation with business and public-sector partners, the objective of E4D is to create decent jobs while raising incomes and improving work conditions.  the programs target group are vulnerable population groups, including women and youth.

E4D focuses on sectors with great employment potential such as agriculture, construction, infrastructure and textile industry. It provides training above all in transferable job profiles and qualification standards that can be used across all sectors of the economy.

E4D works with the private sector in two fields. Firstly, E4D, in partnership with business, develops projects to increase demand for skilled labour, through enterprise development, inclusive business models and cooperation models and supply chain development. Poorer population groups are thereby integrated into value chains as employees, suppliers, sales partners or customers.

E4D also uses private sector partnerships to enhance the employability and thereby the availability of qualified workers in the formal and informal labour market, through training and work place programmes.
